UR Director

The Director of UR/Case Management is an executive leadership position that requires clinical and leadership experience. The Director must also possess comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare industry, familiarity with CMS regulations, strategic planning skills and understanding of the operations of a healthcare organization.

Job Description & Requirements

JOB Relationships:​

  • Responsible to the CNO

  • Supervises UR Case Managers, SSD

  • Coordination with HIM Director, Billing Supervisor, Chief Nursing Officer

JOB Description and Duties:​

Responsible for directing all activities within the UR/CM Department. Specific duties may include developing and maintaining quality-improvement programs, managing payroll, collaborating with physicians and medical staff to ensure service expectations are being met, directing workflow of other case manager and developing departmental policies and procedures.​

​

Prepare staffing plans and schedules, conduct performance evaluations of employees, promote and maintain positive relations with patients and their families as well as other healthcare organizations.

​

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in healthcare related field preferred. Registered Nurse Degree. Minimum of 2 years of utilization review/case management discharge planning experience is preferred.

  • Maintain current professional licensure.

  • Ability to understand and interpret request from physicians, and memorandums from outside sources. Maintain confidentiality of information.

Skills:

  • Well developed communication, verbal and written, plus strong interpersonal skills are required.

  • Must be proficient with a computer and able to quickly learn new software programs.

  • Must be able to apply medical criteria and use solid clinical judgement to ensure admissions and treatment rendered is medically necessary.
